Agent Eighteen Hubb video clip

It was shot by Mark Balasbas here on Oahu  before I left on my long trip. We had only a few days to shoot, so we did the lifestyles in the morning at home and down town and then also got a quick afternoon session in at half point and then the day I left I had one hour to film at Rocky Point before raced to the airport to grab a morning flight to Brazil.  Mark FTP’ed the footage to Agent Eighteen and Bryce edited it all together very nicely.

Here is an interview that Riptide mag  did with me that was supposed to accompany the press release but it never made the site but you can view it below.

Hey Jeff,

We are looking at getting a bit of an interview about your new signing with Agent Eighteen just to coincide with the press release they are putting out this week.

If you could answer the questions below and email them back that would be ace mate!

1.       What was the attraction to sign with Agent 18?

The suit are so sick and they are expanding rapidly around the globe in to many new markets and I am positioned to help them promote the brand in these new areas.

2.       What are your thoughts on their new suits?

They are the most amazing quality suits with the most cutting edge designs and features. I am so impressed on the wetsuits and craftsmanship that when I put on a suit I don’t even realize its there and that is exactly what you look for in a suit. The new ID Atlantic 4/3 is the warmest suit I have ever used.

3.       What does this new sponsorship mean for your career?

I am really excited about this opportunity to work with such a proffesional group of individules that really care about the sport and know how to make an impact.

4.       What does it mean for you personally?

It is awesome to be apart of something so different an unique and have an opportunity to help make things happen.

5.       How did it feel to be a approached by such a prestigious brand?

I was really flattered that Agent Eighteen took an interest in me.  They are really serious about pushing the brand, products, sport and myself to the next level all around the globe not just making it an Australia brand.

6.       What is your direction going to be with Agent 18?

I am going to be working hard to increase the brand prescense around the globe, and to help collaberate with the design team to incorporate some exciting features to the next ranges.

7.       Is this the first Australian brand you’ve signed with? And do you think it will garner you more exposure over here?

Yes, this is the first Australian brand that I have signed with and I think it will defintily be an incentive for me to get to Australia more often to work on the Agent Eighteen events that they have planned for the future, and that should result in more exposure for both me and Agent Eighteen.

8.       How does it feel to be apart of a team that has so many big names in bodyboarding?

It feels sick as there as some diverse and unique indviduales working to push this brand. I also  that I think the team complements each other really well and there are going to be some really cool future iniatives coming from our team.

9.       Does this mark a new direction for Mr. J Hubb?

I think it means that I am still amped to keep pushing my riding as far as possble and to let me to help this brand be really creative and successful around the globe as well by working on some of the amazing projects that agent eighteen have been finializing.

10.   Do you have anything new coming up?

I have So much to do and so little time. I have a few little projects I want to achomplish so we will see what happens in the next few months but I will definitly keep you boys at Riptide up to date.

11.   How involved are you going to be with Agent 18?

The boys running the show are really on top of it so I have been working as close as possible to play catch up and help get the ball rolling from my end and I think that as the new ranges come out I will be working even closer to do my part to make Agent Eighteen the premier wetsuit brand in the sport world wide.

12.   You had a fair few brands chasing you to sign, why was Agent 18 the best option?

The suits were the best I tried and I think that at the end of the day I wanted to ride for a label that was committed to bodyboarding and was interested in the big picture of the globalization of the sport, and that had a plan to capitalize on what I could offer to them.

Thanks for your time Jeff, I really appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

Paul.

Here are a few photos of me testing out an Agent Eighteen 2.2 chest zip spring suit at Sandys before my trip.

Beach Break Fun

With plenty of combo swells lately the beach breaks have been acting up. Lowen shot a few clips of me the boys having fun on the sand bars. Maligro was on the fish, Benco on the black board  and Dub on the Morey.  Click the link below to watch the action.

A Classic Hawaiian day

Today was a beautiful day in Hawaii. The sun was shinning, water was warm, light winds and fun little waves to surf with my friends. We drove on the sand and parked right next to the ocean and  jumped out and went surfing with onlly a few guys out, it was a real treat.

I saw some photos  of our session from Ewan Conway on Facebook. www.Reddawnproductions.net, www.econphoto.blogspot.com

Mahalo Ewan for sharing the photos.

Clean and glassy

When its summer time, and there  is no wind on Oahu’s southern shores, and the tide is low, and small waves are rolling in. Diamond head is one of the best places to be.  Multiple peaks  and a better wave exposure mean that  you can always find a fun wave to ride.  Today was one of those days  with a glassy morning session of  1-3 foot waves that never blew out and no more than 3 other dudes in the water at one time.

North shore day 1

The north shore awoke today and pipe and backdoor had a few nuggets. It was uncrowded and I some fun waves with Dre, Jacob Romero, Savoji and Alex Leon. We all had a blast and got a few  small pits. Huge swell in the forecast so we could see some good days ahead. Tim Jones arrived today so we will finally have some support from the photographers. I snapped a few of his photos from today off his lap top.
