Half point redux… again…

We got some little south swell hitting the Islands the past few days and today I surfed half point… again. It seems I don’t surf many other spots when the south swell is small. It has been crowded with the crew as usual but with some fun ramps to be had none the less. I am not sure what I would do with out half point to practice on. Andrew Rams took some shots of me flipping this am and shared them with us.

Its been a few days since I got to surf the Wedge in California and I have to admit it I miss it a bit the beat downs the sections and good times. Luckily I have a few more photos to share and remember.

California dreaming

I was in California for the past few days and was lucky enough to score some great waves, it kinda felt like I was actually on a surf trip. The weather was kinda lame but we had some solid Wedge on Tuesday and got to surf some epic waves the next day to at some secret spot. The crowd was intense at wedge but it was super fun to surf with every one to get some barrels and beat downs with eddie, dub , savoji, jacob, apple, and the rest of the crew ect. The water was a bit chilly so I am quite glad to be back in the warm Hawaiian sun.

Hubb and Dub Roll Reversal

This past weekend I was down In TJ for the Surfing En El Boarder bodyboard contest. It was a huge US open style event mexico style with live bands all day and night, lots of mexican food and beer, mariacha bands, live wrestling matches. It was really cool because my brother David and ended up switching our normal boogie rolls and I ended up winning the Drop knee division and David won the prone division. So it was a cool result for us both. we had a lot of fun and TJ and nothing bad happened to any one which was good and every one got home safe, blessed…

On the road again

I am off to California then down to Baja on July 16-18,2010. I will be attending the pro bodyboarding event surfing en el border at Playas De Tijuana right next to the bull ring. It has $10 grand in prize money and still has open slots visit www.surfingenelborder.com.mx for more info.

It looks like there will be some fun waves for the event and good weather.

I was able to upload a old video to You tube that Jordan Stallard did for me back in 2007. They did not let me put up the original sound track so I had you tube add a replacement song. It was supposed to be for my hubb dvd but that project keeps getting shutdown so I figured I should just post whatever footage I have on the net. This is my first attempt and hopefully i’ll get some newer stuff up soon, once I learn to edit the footage .

TRs New Site and Video

I hung out with TR when I was down in Oz a few months ago. We had some fun surf trips together. He was working on his new website back then and has finally launched it. It is called Highwaydaze.com. It is pretty rad and I am happy he has another outlet for his wildly creative brain.

We had a little session together down in SA at a spot called desert left. It was our last day and we had an hour to try to get some photos for Le Boogie. So I just tried to hit the lip and was only able to find flip bowls and got no shots run and TR the desert left local he is, did a few tight lip spins and got a an advert and double run for his fine efforts. Score robbo 2 hubbo 0…

Le Boogie Issue 4 Madness

I stayed at Phils house for a few weeks back in April when he was creating this issue and it was amazing how hard he works making every thing come together for his magazine.

Issue 4 drops very soon and it looks pretty sick by the video clip and photos I saw.

The cover is pretty sick and I wish Hawaii was barreling like that right now.

I can’t wait for the new issue to come out on the iphone app so I can check it out on the new HD screen.

Half point fun

I have been surfing at half point everyday lately getting ready for the sandy beach pro next weekend. Waves have been ok, nothing epic but its ridable and thats good enough for Hawaiian summer surf. Keiki Oceanfest 2010

The Keiki Oceanfest went off yesterday at sherwoods beach in Waimanalo. We had about 70 entrants in 4 divisions with pretty decent grom waves that the kids ripped apart. It was a great event as every one went home with a smile on there sun burnt faces. Our great sponsors hooked up such amazing prizes for these kids. Free lunch from Wahoo’s and Kenekes and free drinks from vitamin water. It was an awesome family beach day event. Pros like Tamega, Alistar taylor, Houli Reeves, Aka lyman , Mike Stewart all showed up with their kids to enjoy the day. Dave Hubbard provided classic commentary and entertainment on the microphone all day. We had tons of support from all the Volunteers, ( Skip, Lau , Jade , christina, Dub, Benco, Keoni, Trevor, Nick, Jason, Heather, Beta, Cluadia, Shawnee, big Todd and Jacob) thank you guys so much for all your help.
