Bonus Maui shots

Evan Fa was over on Maui too and shot some cool photos before he jumped in the water.. Here are a few of his shots. Mahalo Evan..Well The waves have been really tough the last week here in Hawaii so those sessions on Maui have really helped me weather this down time. Besides training at halfpoint the last week I have tried to keep busy by doing spring cleaning.. I have been cleaning my house, garage, car, even doing my taxes and now donating blood. We even watched Alice in Wonderland at Imax 3-d which was awesome. Some how I hope the waves get better as I am running out of things to do around the house.

Maui times

I spent the last three days hanging out on Maui with my friends and surfing the great waves the island had to offer. One Monday I flew over and hung out with Marcus Rodrigues . It was his birthday and we surfed Honolua bay for 8 hours that day. It was firing and so much fun watching all the Maui boys ripping Jacob Romero was hitting any section he saw and flying high pushing his riding and making the bay look like his play ground. We had mean birthday grinds at marcus house that night and then woke up early the next day and the bay was still pumping so we surfed again for 5 hours till marcus had to go to work. Then He dropped me off at the Foam Co. where I meet up with Jacob Romero and the Aussies crew Simon Ormerod and Glenn Sullivan and Richard the filmer and had some amazing food from Jacobs dad Mark who makes the mops on a daily basis for the boys. The Romeros hook it up.

On wensday we surfed the bay again it was smaller and also surfed a little slab as well which was a cool session just riding with the crew Kona K, Simon , Jacob, Timmy and Kaea. A fun day ended with another mean dinner at the Romeros before I jumped on the 20 minute flight back home. I Hope another outer island trip is in store for me in the future.

Well the last few days have been chill for me as the waves pumped at pipe and the south shore mid week. though I did not get to enjoy them too much as I tweaked my shoulder trying to do a big air at gums. Though I’ll be back in the water soon as I went to my friends at Kennedy chiropractic at sunset beach and dr trish helped fix me up. I also heard my friend Kepa Cruz is working on a new movie in utah called dragon fire. Ya guy .. also I have the go big promo at ala Moana mall tomorrow at 12 which should be pretty fun with lots of boards and prizes to give out. Also there was a cool profile on the Hawaii extreme sports show which you can view on the new usbatour.com website. www.usbatour.com
With my time at home I have been facebook and I found a nice one Jordan Stallard shot mahalo Jordan cool shot.

Pipe fun

Pipeline was once again acting up over the last few days. Crowds were thick with lots of Bodyboarders who are here for the comp and locals hungry for some waves. The waves were fun and andrew rams and maurice were on the job shooting. Maurice shot this cool line up shot of me taking off and Andrew shot this air revo sequence of me. thanks for the support fellas.

The waves have been quite fun the last week up in the country. Today I was up early at pipe and OTW it was fun and clean. I sampled some unruley pipeline today. It was semi glassy but bumpy and big. I was the only one out for a little while which was nice. I got cleaned up a few too many times and the wind got worse so I went to sandys for the second session. Andrew rams was videoing me out at pipe and sent over some frame grabs of some of my waves.

Just another Sunday for my dog cookie. She was tired of watching me surf pipe. So she decided to give it go. One left hander to the beach was all she needed, go cookie go. Thanks to Randall Perez for taking the photos.

Glenn from static was out and about the north shore this week and he snapped a few nice images. The waves have been fun the last few days with plenty of good days ahead too. Though Glenn is off the shoot the miss america pagent in Vegas so he may miss it …. ha yeah right…. he was quite happy to leave.
