Just wanted to say thanks to every one who came out to support Eddie Solomon’s cancer fundraiser in Hawaii on Sunday. It was a lot of fun and every one seemed to win something, thanks to all the great companies and people that donated items. Also the USBA Sandy Beach event went off this past weekend as well. It had the biggest turn out I have seen for a Hawaii pro/am event ever. I think there was 24 hours of competition over the 2 day weekend and hundreds of competitors through out all age divisions. Since we had some fun waves the action was red hot. It was so cool to see the level of talent just improve every year. I was blessed to come out with the win over a red hot Spencer Skipper who just returned from a bad shoulder injury, as well as new oz threat Josh Garner and 6x world champ GT who I had to surf against 3 times on Sunday. It looks like a fun and busy weekend ahead. We have the USBA Sandy Beach Pro happening and it looks like tons of waves will be in store for all. The Eddie Solomon fundraiser and video premier of ”V” is happening at Dave and Busters Sunday night. I heard the video is great and I know every one is excited to help support Eddie. We have $1000 of dollars in raffles and auction items so come down and enjoy.

I have been practicing at half point getting ready for the comp and Andrew Rams took a few snaps of me riding some waves in between all the paddling going on.. that current is harsh right now…
It has been a fun two weeks at home relaxing with my wife and practicing for the South America leg of the IBA tour. Luckily we have had waves all around the Island and I even got a some fun ones at Pipe and Backdoor the last few days. I leave on Sunday for almost a month long contest trip, first stop Peru, then Chile and lastly California for the USBA U.S Open at Huntington Beach. Good waves and times ahead.

I just returned home from the second leg of the IBA World Tour at the BOX in Margaret River. I placed 5th and am #1 on the World tour rankings. I had a great trip hanging with my brothers Mike and Dave as well as all my friends. The waves were super fun almost every day, but I am happy to be home to have a rest with my family and to get ready for the next leg of the IBA tour in South America @ Peru and Chile. Some how I was able to arrive home and straight in to a fun little north shore swell during the last two days with lots of ramps, fun stuff even with a bit of jet lag.

A heathy spring time swell lit up the Banzai during the last few days. Surf surf pushing the 12ft mark and washing through on occasion. Crowds were light, conditions clean and many epic waves were had by all. Skip, BW, Dub, Lau, Stew, GT, Nakana, Kalima, Keahi, Murph, and Dan all got sweet ones and have smiles on there faces that will prob last through the weekend.

I have been on Kauai for over a week spending time with my family, surfing and working out with Dusty Dillberg at Dillberg Integrated Health. I have had plenty of fun waves with friends. Also we got to preview the new Movie Soul Surfer about our dear friend Bethany Hamilton. It was amazing, you must see this in the theaters when it comes out April 8th, truly inspirational. And Brother Timmy Hamilton has some sick bodyboard waves in there as well…
Tanner and Dub and crip new board
Today I spent the day speaking to about 200 kids in 6, 7 and 8th grades at Waimanalo elementary. It was a lot of fun exposing the youth to bodyboarding and all the fun it has to offer. They watched videos and got free magazines, stickers and autographs. It was also cool having bodyboarding being amongst other professional careers (Pilots, Police, Fire Fighters, Navy, ect.). It was just great to see a lot of amped groms who will someday be shaping our sports future.

The IBA Pipe comp has been going on for the last three days. They finished DK, Women’s and Bodysurfing. Congrats to Feasty, Nemara, and Stewy for taking down their divisions. The waves looked fun and every one watching the webcasts and on the beach seem to be enjoying the show from what I hear. A new swell is coming in soon and I hope we will get underway with the final day either on Tuesday or Wednesday. I am hoping for some ramps like this one in the event. Either way It should be a climatic finish to the contest.
